Governor’s Order Changes Continue To Demonstrate Failed Leadership

Posted On June 26, 2020

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce, regarding the governor’s decision to put on hold her reopening plan for the state:
“While we all want New Mexicans to remain healthy and safe, the governor’s latest move continues her haphazard approach on how to handle this crisis. Her decisions remain inequitable, illogical and will endanger the future of even more businesses and livelihoods. Her mass gathering policies have now ruined our tourism industry and the fate of other industries, like wine, hangs in the balance. Each day more small businesses shut down. The governor has shown little understanding of how her policies have devastated our state and have clearly sounded a death knell for our economy.”
