Chairman Pearce Statement On NAPO Endorsement of Trump

Posted On July 16, 2020

The National Association of Police Organizations has formally endorsed President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. NAPO acknowledged the President’s public support for the men and women in blue across the nation, particularly at a time when police departments have been under attack. NAPO’s endorsement also praises Trump for directing the U.S. Attorney General to aggressively prosecute anyone who assaults police officers.

Normally police unions support Democrats. This important endorsement certainly reflects a split in the Democratic Party as many on the left continue to attack police and push to defund departments. As skyrocketing crime continues across the country, it is reprehensible that anyone take this position.

The following is RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce’s statement on the NAPO endorsement:

“The endorsement of President Trump by the National Association of Police Organizations demonstrates Trump’s commitment to law enforcement and its mission in our nation. He has and will always defend our police and understand the vital role they play in our cities and all of our communities. Trump truly is the Law and Order President, who understands that these tireless men and women risk their lives each day to protect our citizens and keep our communities safe.”

NAPO represents more than 1,000 police units and associations and more than 241,000 law enforcement officers.
