| SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 – Statement from Amy Barela, Chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico Did you know that many New Mexicans face longer wait times, fewer doctors, and limited access to care in our state’s healthcare system? Litigation, staffing shortages, and regulatory hurdles have contributed to: Fewer healthcare providers in rural and urban areas. Longer waits for appointments, sometimes weeks or months for routine care. Lower quality of care due to overburdened staff and stretched resources. Increased stress on families who must travel long distances or delay care. What This Means for Residents: Healthcare decisions at the state level directly affect availability, quality, and timeliness of care. Without decisive action and strong leadership, these challenges will continue, leaving residents with fewer options and longer delays. The Path Forward: New Mexico needs leaders who are committed to creating meaningful change in healthcare — improving access, reducing wait times, and ensuring quality care for all. Strong leadership in government is critical to implement there forms our communities need. Call to Action: Stay informed, attend local meetings, and hold leaders accountable to prioritize healthcare improvements. Change starts with active citizens demanding solutions that put New Mexicans first. Support Republican leadership to move our state into a different direction. ### The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico.
