| NEW MEXICO AUGUST 11 – The Republican Party of New Mexico is deeply troubled by the recent break-in at the Hobbs Democrat Headquarters. Crime continues to be at the forefront in every community around New Mexico. This violation compromises not just the safety and integrity of political activities but also fosters fear and uncertainty among both local party members and the wider community. The Republican Party of Lea County Chair, Carol Parish stated that “the incident involving the break-in at the Hobbs Democrat Headquarters highlights the critical need to address crime & any type of disagreements through transparent dialogue and respectful debate, upholding both the political system and personal freedoms instead of turning to illegal behavior. We must stress that violence must never be tolerated and that the political framework deserves respect. Moreover, we remain committed to exposing these issues until our state and local policies take a firmer stance against crime.” NM House Representative District 62, Elaine Sena Cortez, had this to say regarding the crime in Hobbs, New Mexico: “It’s deeply troubling to see the Hobbs Democrat Headquarters was broken into. Violence is cowardly and has no place in our country. I’m grateful no one was harmed. Our differences of opinion, no matter how strong, must be settled through dialogue and debate—not destruction. That’s what our constitutional republic demands of us all. We can disagree passionately on policy while still respecting the political process and each other’s right to participate in it.” The incident has prompted broader conversations about enhancing security protocols at all political party offices throughout New Mexico to avert similar events in the future and to guarantee a secure and intimidation-free environment for political engagement. ### The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico.
