Albuquerque, December 18–Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and former Congressman Steve Pearce issued the following statement today, marking the beginning of Hanukkah this evening: “The Republican Party of New Mexico and I want to wish our Jewish friends and Jewish communities in New Mexico and around the world a happy and healthy Hanukkah. Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is a holiday that recalls peoples’ perseverance and courage through adversity. Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem after a successful revolt and miraculous victory by the Jewish people over their oppressors more than 2,000 years ago. We wish our Jewish friends a joyous holiday as they observe the 8-day-long celebration.” |
