| Albuquerque, December 2—The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce regarding the newly issued state public health emergency order: “Once again the Governor is using authoritarian rule, making arbitrary decisions affecting the lives of New Mexicans. She invokes statewide policy without any input from the legislature, something that’s become a habit. She continues to ignore other branches of government. In addition, Lujan Grisham is playing the role of the Grinch with her recommendation that everyone this holiday season wear masks indoors—a recommendation without any medical or scientific evidence that they are needed. She continues to infringe on our rights and even cites a doctor shortage in the state—a crisis she partly created through damaging medical malpractice legislation. No wonder doctors are fleeing the state.” |
