Albuquerque, September 30—Tonight Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti demonstrated why he is the clear choice to serve as New Mexico’s next governor. During KOB-TV’s debate, Ronchetti offered real solutions to today’s serious problems created by Gov. Lujan Grisham. The face-off touched on key issues such as crime, pre-trial detention, cost of living, education, child welfare and homelessness. Ronchetti provided specifics and offered a clear vision for the state’s future. He exposed Lujan Grisham’s poor record, one that’s hurt New Mexicans and their families. Ronchetti showed how Lujan Grisham’s policies have cost jobs, lost businesses, raised taxes and destroyed New Mexico’s economy. In particular, he exposed Lujan Grisham on her poor performance regarding CYFD, and the Administration’s cover-ups involving that embattled department. Ronchetti also pointed out that the big government surpluses we have been experiencing are not helping average New Mexicans. The Governor seemed flustered, lost at times, and had difficulty defending her record, as Ronchetti continued to display how her progressive policies have devastated the state. “It is crystal clear from tonight’s debate that Mark Ronchetti deserves to become our next governor,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “Mark has a firm grasp of the issues and understands how to solve the many problems created by Lujan Grisham. It’s evident that the Governor is out of touch with her constituents and continues to deflect when confronted about her weak record. This governor has simply failed New Mexicans: she has lied, failed to improve our state, stripped us of our freedoms and has kept New Mexico in the cellar nationally. It’s time we set our priorities straight and do something to get this state back on track. We all deserve better, and Mark Ronchetti will get New Mexico moving forward and will tackle the serious crises we face today.” |

As far as entertainment value goes, this liberal Democrat would give the edge to Ronchetti for the energy of attacks on the Governor’s record and because he didn’t mess up too much–except about women’s health freedom.
The Governor pointed out several times that he has no record of public service to attack, and that her GOP predecessor had eight years without a pandemic to fix the same problems and made little if any progress, but those truths didn’t command the same attention as his constant negativism.
Your review confuses Ronchetti’s fact-free accusations with actual evidence and Governor Grisham’s facts for lies.
On abortion, he proved that he doesn’t understand the issue or state and federal constitutions because giving legislatures power over women’s bodies takes away women’s rights while empowering politicians. It’s that simple, but he’s that thick.
The losers on the night were KOB for not asking about the most important issue nationwide–the MAGA assault on our form of government–and viewers who didn’t get to hear the answers. Mr. Ronchetti should have had to say if he stands with Trump and Ginni Thomas in still believing the big lie.
We have to guess if he approves of NM GOP legislators’ obstruction of widening voter access this spring and how he would improve NM’s elections because he wasn’t asked.
Trump himself has made this a national election, and we know what the Governor thinks, but GOP “leaders” stay silent and hope nobody notices. KOB helped him stay silent and should be ashamed to call itself a news station.
(As of 9:30 this morning the NM GOP website has not mentioned Trump since August 9 when it complained about the search of his office and blamed the FBI for a “raid,” a lie which was obvious at the time.)
My wife and I are helping to reelect Governor Grisham.
