Albuquerque, September 15—Hispanics’ rich, vibrant culture and proud traditions are woven into the very fabric of New Mexican life. RPNM appreciates the many gifts, talents and contributions of New Mexico’s one million Hispanic citizens. Republican values of hard work, self-determination and entrepreneurship; our ideals of equality, opportunity and responsibility; and our commitment to faith, family and freedom are shared beliefs that have deep roots with traditional Hispanic New Mexicans. These shared values, ideals and beliefs have been increasingly under attack by those who are pushing for a new normal, but the Republican Party stands hand-in-hand with Hispanic New Mexicans who are holding onto the traditions of our fathers. New Mexico House Republican Whip Rod Montoya offered the following statement: “In New Mexico, every month is Hispanic Heritage Month. Honoring Hispanics isn’t just placing several dates on a calendar, but it is recognizing that government shouldn’t ignore or try to change our history and culture. The effort by progressives to alter our very identity from Hispanic to ‘Latin X’ is arrogant and insulting! While progressives have tried to replace New Mexico’s shared and unique culture with racial division, Republicans continue to stand for New Mexico’s diverse yet united culture.” The following is a statement from New Mexico Senate Republican Leader Greg Baca: “Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to reflect on the contributions of our people with pride. For generations, our families worked hard and persevered through adversity to provide the best life possible for their children. Times change, but the long lasting Hispanic traditions of faith, family, and freedom remain strong, and these traditions will lead us toward a stronger and more prosperous New Mexico.” National Hispanic Heritage Month runs through October 15. |
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662. |
The WaPo reports that NM GOP “leaders” received Justice Dept. subpoenas in the recent batch exploring Trump Team’s coup attempt. Mr. Pearce must have been one of them since he is one of the bogus electors.
Mr. Curtis, Ms. Skaggs and Pearce should comment on Loser Trump’s actions.
Shame on your continuing silence about Trump Team’s crimes against national security and ongoing assault against democracy. How many subpoenas will it take before you stop hiding and start helping preserve our form of government?
No comment about Ms. Herrell’s failure to work across the aisle to repair our broken immigration system or her MAGA lies about “invasion” and “crisis” at the border to stir resentment against immigrants. Gabe Vasquez makes her look small.
Rather than celebration, your statement is half self-pity over imagined threats against American values. Whines like this won’t win as many votes in Nov as positive proposals would, if you have any.
