DECISION TO LIFT TITLE 42 THROWS OUT A WELCOME MAT TO MILLIONS OF MIGRANTS TO ILLEGALLY CROSS OUR SOUTHERN BORDER

Albuquerque, June 30—Today’s 5-4 ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court giving President Biden the authority to stop Title 42 will lead to more chaos at the southern border and a wave of unchecked migrants.

The facts are clear: Biden created the worst crisis at the border in history. Just last month more than 239,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border.

More than 3.5 million illegal migrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.

These migrants are coming into the nation with no health checks or background checks.

The border calamity is leading to deadly consequences.

The death toll of migrants found abandoned inside a tractor-trailer in San Antonio, TX several days ago has climbed to 53. That’s the deadliest tragedy to claim the lives of migrants smuggled across the border from Mexico in recent history.

Biden, along with Gov. Lujan Grisham, refuse to secure our border, virtually inviting more illegal migrants to commit human trafficking, drug smuggling and other crimes. They have simply failed to protect citizens.

“The Court’s decision essentially ending President Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy is disappointing and dangerous,” said RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce. “Ending Title 42 will lead to a wave of migrants pouring into our nation without proper health checks and background checks, endangering our communities. Hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants are crossing the southern border into New Mexico and other states every month. The Biden Administration has created a humanitarian crisis, and it will worsen when Title 42 is over. Meantime, Gov. Lujan Grisham’s lack of action to secure our border will exacerbate this crisis. She continues to endanger the lives of New Mexicans by doing nothing to curb this threat to our state’s communities.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
  • JH Cole says:

Mr. Pearce’s fear-mongering about immigrants is unpopular in NM and will help keep the GOP in the minority. It’s one of the reasons he lost to Ms. Grisham in 2020 and a reason Mr. Ronchetti will lose in November.

Most voters know that fixing our borders requires Congress to reform the immigration system and that hate-mongering Republicans stand in the way. President Biden and Governor Grisham are doing what they were elected to do and they deserve our support now.
