Albuquerque, December 7–The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce on this National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day: “Today we honor the memory of the 2,403 Americans who were killed 80 years ago during a surprise Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Those who lost their lives on December 7, 1941 included 2,008 sailors, 218 soldiers and airmen, 109 marines and 68 civilians. We must remember and pay tribute to those fearless service members who fought back and defended our homeland on this “date which will live in infamy.” These courageous Americans helped establish the Greatest Generation at a time when Democracy was threatened. We must always salute our military past and present and the men and women who protect our freedoms and defend our great nation each day.” |
