NATIONAL REPORT REFLECTS GOV. LUJAN GRISHAM’S CONSISTENT FAILURES AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Albuquerque, June 16—A newly released survey shows that New Mexico comes in dead last when it comes to “2021’s Best States to Live in,” a reflection of 90 years of failed policies under Democratic control.

New Mexico’s weak standing is the direct result of nearly a century of control and destruction by Democrat-led legislatures. Democratic policies over the years have literally left New Mexico in the dust. The state has failed its citizens with a government that’s provided few opportunities, little economic growth and an education system that’s at the bottom of the heap.

The WalletHub report compared the 50 states based on 52 key indicators of livability. The survey included such categories as affordability, housing, unemployment, poverty, economy, income growth, quality of life, education, health and safety.

New Mexico ranked 50th.

New Mexico performed particularly poorly in several categories: the highest percentage of the population living in poverty, lowest income growth, the lowest population aged 25 and older with a high school diploma or higher, and the highest crime rate.

After decades of bad management, the state needs a leader and new legislative leadership to reverse long-imbedded failures. Gov. Lujan Grisham has not been up to the task.

“Under the Governor’s failed leadership and Democrat-controlled legislatures for 90 years, New Mexico continues to be last among the states,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “Our problems are systemic and will take years to reverse, but instead of our Governor leading New Mexico to a better future, she makes excuses for the ineptitude and failures of her administration. Under Lujan Grisham’s watch, there’s been no progress for New Mexico–jobs are gone, businesses have vanished, communities are broke and our economy is in tatters. Our education system is plagued with high dropout rates, low test scores and poor student performance. Meanwhile, Republican-led states are leading the way in economic opportunity and job growth.  It seems only natural that New Mexicans are leaving the Land of Enchantment for better opportunities across our borders. This latest report is an accurate report card on what’s been happening in New Mexico.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
