REPORT A VOTING INCIDENT: 505-305-0763

Press Release|

ALBUQUERQUE, SEPTEMBER 6 — The Fraternal Order of Police has announced its endorsement of President Trump in his reelection bid. The more than 355,000-member police union has voted unanimously to support Trump because he supports law enforcement, will do what it takes to keep law and order and will protect communities around the nation.

“President Trump has shown time after time that he supports our law enforcement officers and understands the issues our members face every day,” said FOP President Patrick Yoes.

The FOP is the largest law enforcement labor group in the nation. It endorsed President Trump in 2016.

During the recent unrest in the nation President Trump has made a strong commitment to law enforcement, providing manpower and resources to protect communities. Operation Legend, designed to combat violent crime in eight targeted cities including Albuquerque, has netted more than 2,000 arrests. Dozens of suspects have been collared in Albuquerque, ranked among the most dangerous cities in America.

The President’s endorsement comes as Democrat-controlled cities push to defund police departments. Trump will always defend the police.

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce calls the FOP endorsement a true sign of support for President Trump who’s getting the job done when it comes to public safety.

“President Trump has proven consistently that he stands with law enforcement, and he understands the importance of keeping law and order in our communities,” said Pearce. “Our police departments are vital to protecting our communities and ensuring that our citizens are safe. This endorsement demonstrates that the FOP understands that public safety is on everyone’s mind this election, and the union knows who will address this issue properly and support police officers.”
