| IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 20, 2026 Albuquerque, NM – Today, the New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils held their virtual roundtable discussion with healthcare stakeholders from across New Mexico. This was a meeting that provided attendees with the opportunity to talk about the healthcare problems our state faces and the solutions that are desperately needed. While Republican gubernatorial candidate Gregg Hull showed up, Deb Haaland did not. “It’s very telling that Deb Haaland wants to be the first Native American woman to serve as governor in the history of our country, yet fails to show up to one of New Mexico’s most critical roundtable discussions on healthcare, which included stakeholders from every tribal community,” said Interim Chairman Mike Nelson. “Over 170 community partners participated in this meeting and Haaland was nowhere to be found.” What is especially ironic is that this roundtable discussion takes place at a time when New Mexico Democrats have presided over one of the worst doctor shortages in the country, and the Democrat nominee for governor can’t even be bothered to show up. This is yet another page taken out of the Democrat Biden playbook. Not showing up to showcase leadership and solutions but expecting to be elected is the Democrat way. Thankfully, gubernatorial candidate Gregg Hull attended the meeting and shared his vision and plan to fix our healthcare problem with all who attended. It is no surprise that the most experienced and qualified candidate on the ballot shows up at every meeting ready to discuss any issue with any New Mexico voter. While there are countless examples of why New Mexico needs Republican leadership, this is the latest one. ### |
