| IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 25, 2025 Last Night’s Mayoral Debate Made The Choice Very Easy for Albuquerque Voters Albuquerque, NM — Last night’s mayoral debate proved the obvious: Albuquerque voters have a very easy choice in the upcoming runoff election. Darren White clearly has the momentum in this race as Mayor Keller continues proving why he is wrong for Albuquerque. “Some of the things Tim Keller said in last night’s debate are just outright insulting to Albuquerque voters,” said Chairwoman Barela. “It’s very clear that even Keller himself is aware of his abysmal record, which is why all he can do is run a fear-mongering campaign and lie repeatedly to voters.” Keller also made it clear last night that illegal immigrants who commit crimes and are arrested in Albuquerque will be protected from federal authorities, making our city even more unsafe. In a contentious campaign, when a single issue, such as crime, absorbs this much attention, that’s usually a sign that voters are very unhappy with the current state of the issue. Everyone in Albuquerque—Republicans, Democrats, and Independents—knows that there is a crime problem; that opinion is unanimous. Even Keller stated last night, “I understand people don’t feel safer. I get that. I feel the same way, but I also know that crime is down statistically.” He is too busy touting statistics, but crime, homelessness, and drugs are all worse in Albuquerque than the national averages. In some cases, much worse. Mayor Keller is on defense and everybody knows it. His campaign is trying to scare voters with lies, deflect attention away from his record, and is also claiming that “real change doesn’t happen with a flip of a switch – it takes years of steady leadership.” An outrageous thing to say considering he has been at the helm for nearly 8 years. Albuquerque cannot afford Tim Keller’s radical left policy agenda for another term. Our city is on the brink of becoming unlivable, undesirable for tourists, and unprosperous for small businesses. Tim Keller has had eight years to govern our city and has made one thing crystal clear: his time as mayor needs to come to an end. Darren White is the right choice for Albuquerque and is the only candidate in this race with real solutions to bring real change. ### |
