LOS LUNAS, MAY 1, 2025—The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) is outraged that another Republican office, shared by four lawmakers in Los Lunas—House Minority Leader Gail Armstrong, Senator Joshua Sanchez, and Representatives Brian Baca and Tanya Mirabal Moya—was broken into and burglarized on Tuesday. Laptops, IT equipment, and other materials were stolen.
“Yet again, this break-in hits home not just for us but for every New Mexican living in fear of becoming the next crime statistic,” said RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela. “From Albuquerque to Los Lunas, no one—families, businesses, or lawmakers—is safe. The Democrats’ refusal to pass tough crime bills during the past legislative sessions has made our streets increasingly more dangerous. Republicans stand with New Mexicans demanding safer communities and stronger laws.”
While there is no direct evidence that this burglary was politically motivated, it is difficult to overlook the context in which another Republican Party office was targeted amidst increasing rhetoric. This incident follows just weeks after the firebombing of the RPNM state headquarters in Albuquerque.
