ALBUQUERQUE, NM, APRIL 14, 2025—The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) commends the swift and thorough action of federal and local law enforcement agencies in the arrest of Jamison R. Wagner, who has been charged in connection with the recent arson attacks on a Tesla dealership in Bernalillo and the RPNM headquarters in Albuquerque.
RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela issued the following statement:
“We are grateful to the FBI and ATF for their diligent work in apprehending the individual responsible for these heinous acts. The attack on our headquarters was not just an attack on a building; it was an attack on the democratic process and the values we hold dear. We are relieved that no one was harmed and are committed to ensuring that justice is served.”
Barela continued, “Let this send a clear message to anyone who may be considering similar acts: you will be found, and you will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Attempting to silence through violence, intimidation, or threats is not how the Republican Party — or any freedom-loving American — negotiates. We stand strong in the face of hate, and we will continue to defend our right to participate freely and safely in the political process.”
The arson attack on the RPNM headquarters caused significant damage, including a burned entrance and extensive smoke damage throughout the office. Graffiti reading “ICE=KKK” was found on the building — a phrase matching a stencil discovered in Wagner’s home along with other incendiary materials.
“This incident is part of a disturbing pattern of politically motivated violence that has plagued our country. Such acts of domestic terrorism have no place in our society. We call on leaders across the political spectrum to unequivocally condemn these actions and to work together to restore civility and respect in our political discourse.”
RPNM is cooperating fully with ongoing investigations and is taking steps to enhance security measures to protect its staff and facilities.

It’s hard to understand why Ms. Barela didn’t strengthen her message by including the attack on the Pennsylvania governor’s mansion, so she might like to explain in a future post. However, she is right to treat Mr. Wagner’s violence as an aberration and not try to blame the Democratic Party for it.
Wagner probably has a similar history of failure and losses as the nut cases who tried to kill candidate Trump, wanted to beat Governor Shapiro with a hammer, and put Nancy Pelosi’s husband in the hospital. They are so far off the rails the attention they get distracts from and diminishes normal political discussion.
Let’s focus on things that matter to everyone, such as violent crime in our neighborhoods, the Constitution, the climate, and due process for all.
