N.M. Democrats Abandon their Duty, Israel, the Jewish Community, and American Hostages ALBUQUERQUE, JULY 24—Today, New Mexico Democratic Representatives Gabe Vasquez, Melanie Stansbury, and Teresa Leger Fernandez, along with Senators Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Lujan, boycotted and refused to attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress. Vice President Kamala Harris will also not preside over or attend Netanyahu’s address citing a campaign event conflict. Vice President Harris has previously supported the anti-Israel college protests.

In both New Mexico and nationally, Democrats have abandoned America’s ally, Israel—the only Jewish nation and the sole democracy in the Middle East—following the deadly terrorist attack on October 7th. Since then, Democrats have aligned with pro-Hamas protesters, have looked the other way while antisemitism rose on college campuses, and today refused to hear from the Israeli Prime Minister while five Americans are still being held hostage by Hamas.

“It’s an embarrassment that New Mexico’s Democratic Representatives and Senators are throwing a tantrum instead of listening to our allies and world leaders amid the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza, especially while the lives of American hostages are on the line,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce.

“The contrast in leadership between the Democratic and Republican candidates running in New Mexico is stark. While Democrats pander to the extreme antisemitic wing of their base, the Republican candidates are unwavering in their support of Israel, the Jewish community and are committed to bringing the American hostages back home. New Mexico deserves to be represented by leadership who will show up and take their sworn duties seriously.”

Steve Pearce is an embarrassment to the nation and New Mexico.

Steve backs an insurrectionist, the only American President to ever resist the peaceful transfer of power.

Steve Pearce should resign as RPNM chair.

The Republican party is going to have to give up on the personality cult of Donny.
