JULY 13—At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, it appears that President Donald Trump was shot at during his speech by an unidentified person, after which he ducked and was escorted off the stage by his Secret Service with what appeared to be blood coming from close to his ear. Secret Service has reported President Trump is now safe and they are investigating the incident.
Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce gives the following statement:
“We are praying that President Trump was not severely harmed by the attack and for the other citizens who also may have been injured at his rally. This is despicable behavior, that we as a nation must condemn.”
Political violence is not acceptable and ARs should be harder to get.
When the little girl in Iowa was shot, Mr. Trump said we should get over it in three days. That was bad advice then and now.
We must use the assassination attempt to try to bring guns under better control, consistent with the 2nd Amendment.
