JUNE 24—Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham was featured in a Politico article on Sunday, in which she praised President Biden’s “balanced approach” to handling the Southern border.
The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce issued the following statement in response:
“Joe Biden, Gov. Lujan Grisham, and border Representative Gabe Vasquez continue to gaslight the public, hoping that no one will notice. There is nothing balanced or humane about Biden’s approach to the border. It is utter chaos, and this chaos has already resulted in the loss of numerous American lives. Additionally, the Biden administration has lost tens of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children and has opened the border up to the cartel, fentanyl smugglers, and human traffickers.
“Joe Biden took 94 executive actions in his first 100 days to weaken border security. This crisis should have never happened to begin with. While the governor refuses to do anything to secure New Mexico’s border, Gabe Vasquez is treating the border crisis like he treats a court summons: he looks the other way and claims he knew nothing.
“The Democratic Party will continue to enable this border disaster, and it will only get worse if they gain control of Congress and win the presidency. If New Mexicans want to see the border secured and order restored, they must vote for every Republican on their ballot in November.”
