JUNE 4—The Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce issued the following statement at the closing of the primary election:
“On behalf of the Republican Party of New Mexico, I extend heartfelt gratitude to all the Republican candidates who answered the selfless call to run for office and serve the great people of our state. Every candidate displayed hard work and dedication while engaging with their communities during this primary. Whether they won their race or not, all of their efforts warrant recognition and respect.
I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all of the primary winners. We have one of the strongest slates of candidates we’ve ever had, and they’re prepared to work hard to win in very competitive races this year.
It’s clear from the momentum building for Republicans that New Mexicans are fed up with paying double for groceries, feeling scared of falling victim to crime, and seeing the invasion at the southern border. This is shaping up to be the most critical election of our lifetime and we’re confident that our candidates will perform strongly in November.”
There is no point in voting in November. Our party has decided to nominate a felonious looser.
If you care about down ballot races there may be a point to voting but at this point I have to question the judgement and courage of every republican leader and candidate that is still sticking with Trump.

As a former Democrat who changed to the Republican party, I am not in love with everything the NM or national GOP says or does. However, I can read the Democrat party platform, listen to what their leaders say – and don’t say – and I can see the people who do support an agenda that has become toxic, radical and destructive. That agenda does not work for the American people.
Feeling that a vote does not matter is understandable. The act of not voting allows those who do vote to make the decision for those who don’t vote. By looking around at our families, neighborhood and nation, we can see we are in a war of ideas, philosophies and agendas that will determine the future of the United States. While I don’t like war, nevertheless, we are there. For the United States to survive as free and democratic republic, those who love the United States, the Constitution, the rule of law, judging and treating people by the content of their character and freedom in general, will have to make the decision to stand up for those principles and freedoms. While that stand may cost something now, being called a racist, arguing within our families, losing friends, even losing a job, by not standing up now we guarantee will have to stand up later and pay a higher cost. And I don’t want to pay that price. I think there is still time to save and resurrect a peaceful, prosperous and free America. Let ‘s roll up our sleeves and work to build an America the Beautiful. Working together and with God, Americans can make miracles.
