Dear Friends,
On this Memorial Day, as many gather with friends and family to have a BBQ and enjoy the unofficial start of summer, let us also take a moment to remember the true significance of this day.
Memorial Day honors the courageous United States Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our nation’s freedom and security.
In the comfort of our liberty, it’s often easy to overlook the sacrifices made by the countless Americans who laid down their lives defending it. Truly, we can never repay our fallen heroes, but we can strive to live in a way that honors their sacrifice by upholding the values, principles, and faith that make our great Republic worth their defending. Let us also never take for granted that there are families missing their loved ones so that we can live with all of the great privileges we are blessed with as United States citizens.
On behalf of the Republican Party of New Mexico, I extend my utmost respect and honor to our many New Mexican veterans, not just today but every day. The tremendous and selfless love these brave souls had for our country is unparalleled. God bless all of our fallen American heroes.
