Albuquerque, January 8—Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and former Congressman Steve Pearce this afternoon released the following statement regarding President Biden’s visit to El Paso along the Southern border:

“President Biden’s visit to the border today was simple political theater. He, along with ‘Border Czar’ Vice President Harris, has made it obvious that this administration won’t admit there’s an ongoing crisis at the border. His visit is a phony, arbitrary piecemeal solution to what’s become an unprecedented catastrophe under his watch. There have been more than 5 million illegal border crossings under Biden, and these migrants flood into our communities with unchecked health or criminal backgrounds. Drug and human trafficking across our border is skyrocketing.”

Pearce also addressed the lack of political courage of El Paso’s mayor Oscar Leeser:

“Mayor Leeser last month had declared a state of emergency in his city because of the migrant crisis and the thousands of people pouring into his community. Now he’s covering up this evidence by quickly cleaning up the streets and migrant camps and hiding the problem from the President and national media. Shame on him for his lack of integrity and blatant cowardice to not admit the crisis is happing around him and to not confront the catastrophe head on.”

Former New Mexico Congresswoman Yvette Herrell also issued the following statement on today’s presidential border visit:

“For too long this President and his administration have ignored the crisis at the Southern border. His visit today is too little, too late, we need real leadership and a path forward to secure the border and reform legal immigration….Republicans in Congress have commonsense solutions to keep Americans safe and put an end to the crisis, but President Biden refuses to act.”

Never seen so much hate, accept in the democratic party and there is some in the republican party, but the attacks on the NM people is not ok where the boarder is concerned our so called government is doing nothing, our ranchers are being ignored it has a concerned for the safety of this state, NM knows there was not a even vote and it was not a fair one at that, how can anyone vote for someone who has done nothing for their state, I know where I was there where more GOP signs then any dem signs, NM USA wake up before its to late.

    • Censor me says:

Patriots hate the enemies of America, that is why the GOP is feeling so much hate recently. The party is against the people and the Constitution. America saw the heart of Conservationism on J6 and it isnt pretty. The GOP has devolved into a fascist cult.

Republicans’ refusal to accept the outcomes of elections will bring this country down if left unchecked.

It’s time to unplug the TV, turn off Fox News, rejoin reality, and hold your political leaders accountable.

  • JH Cole says:

When a party wins elections it earns the right to advance the agenda it ran on. When a party loses every statewide and congressional election in a state, it should review its campaign strategy and its agenda.

The GOP lost every statewide and congressional race in NM, but Pearce, Skaggs, Herrell and others persist with the same messages and same silence on loser Trump. The NM GOP needs new leaders.

  • Death to enemies of America says:

Never forget 911, never forgive J6.

The GOP doesn’t have a plan to fix the boarder or anything else, they don’t know what it is to govern.

If they were going to fix boarder security they should have done it with the billions Trump diverted from the Pentagon’s budget for his “big beautiful wall”.

This like everything else out of the GOP these days is a distraction and a grift.

It’s time to apply the 14th Amendment to everyone who has ever breathered a word of support for Trump’s big lie.

NM fake electors, John Eastman, Steve Peearce, and other co-conspirators of the coup must be brought to justice.

Hang the coup participants and save America. Accountability must come before reconciliation, there must be a reckoning.

Destroy the GOP and preserve the Constitution and Republic.

Hoo boy, let’s measure the hypocrisy in this screed.

GOP politicians complained that Mr. Biden doesn’t go to the border and then squeal like pigs when he does. They complain about his “political theater” but ignore the fact that all Trump does is political theater–and they won’t criticize the loser in any other way, either.

Pearce complained about El Paso’s fine mayor: “‘Shame on him for his lack of integrity and blatant cowardice to not admit the crisis is happing [sic] around him and to not confront the catastrophe head on.’” Shame on Pearce, Herrell, Skaggs and the rest for not admitting the crisis Trump caused in our democracy and is still causing, and his crimes against national security.

They keep silent about the loser and his losses in court and hope nobody notices. They have not dared to use his name in this space since 8/9/2021.

If it hopes to become relevant again NM’s GOP needs to find leaders to replace these gutless hypocrites.
