MORE AND MORE AGENTS IN THE CROSSHAIRS AS DANGEROUS MIGRANTS CROSS THE BORDER
| Albuquerque, January 6—The latest border-related shooting involving a New Mexico U.S. Border Patrol agent continues to demonstrate the ongoing failures of the Biden Administration to address the crisis at the Southern border. Federal authorities say the agent was shot yesterday after he confronted occupants of a vehicle suspected of migrant smuggling. He escaped serious injury thanks to his body armor. The shooting comes as President Biden plans to make his first trip to the border this weekend. Biden’s border policies—and his so-called “Border Czar” Vice President Harris—have done nothing to crack down on this dangerous problem. They have refused to admit the border is not secure and have yet to acknowledge the death and dangers his policies have caused. According to the Republican National Committee: –There have been 5.3 million illegal border crossings under Biden. –More than 900,000 “gotaways” have escaped into the country. –In November 233,710 illegal immigrants were apprehended trying to cross the border. –In November nearly 2,900 pounds of deadly fentanyl and 10,722 pounds of methamphetamine were seized at the Southern border. American families continue to be impacted as cartels use the border crisis to smuggle fentanyl and other deadly drugs to enter and poison our communities at record rates, and Gov. Lujan Grisham has taken no action to address the border crisis. And since Biden took office, 41 CBP officials have died in the line of duty. RPNM Board member Kim Kvamme, who lives in a border community in Hidalgo County, issued the following statement after the shooting: “The brave men and women of the Border Patrol daily face an increasingly dangerous situation. The increase of reward for crossing into this country illegally, along with the decrease of consequences for those who make the attempt, has led to more hostility toward Border Patrol agents by human and drug smugglers. These Border Patrol agents are our neighbors and our friends, and they deserve the fullest support from the Biden administration and the governor of New Mexico, which they are currently not receiving, as these agents work to keep American citizens who live along the border safe.” RPNM 2nd Vice Chair Leticia Munoz released the following statement: “More and more border agents are under attack, and the President’s policies continue to endanger their lives. It’s imperative we protect and support these agents and all law enforcement. Let’s hope President Biden’s visit isn’t a political stunt and he actually begins to deal with this terrible problem. More and more citizens are suffering from this ongoing crisis. This is why we need leadership that will do something to stop this dangerous open door policy.” |

Really, border security is what RPNM thinks people care about on J6?
The GOP’S big lie is destroying America and RPNM can’t even acknowledge the crime of the century. J6 was a coup against the Constitution. Never before in our history has a president refused the peaceful transfer of power that is before Trump.

So VC Munoz and member Kvamme (and chair Steve Pearce and exec dir Kim Skaggs) are scared of the border. Most New Mexicans are not, and that’s one reason the GOP lost every statewide and congressional race in NM.
To paraphrase: The latest string of MAGA losses in court involving the 2020 elections continues to demonstrate the real threat to the GOP and to the country, because NM GOP “leaders” fail to address the continuing assault against our democracy.
It would be comforting to know they have a plan to move forward without loser Trump, but they have not even mentioned him since 8/9/2022.
