REPORT A VOTING INCIDENT: 505-305-0763

Albuquerque, November 2—The Republican Party of New Mexico condemns and is horrified to learn of a now-deleted tweet by Democratic House District 24 candidate Rep. Liz Thomson, mocking the brutal murder of a Santa Fe woman. RPNM condemns the comments and calls on the Democratic Party of New Mexico to also denounce this despicable tweet.

Last Saturday 21 year-old Grace Jennings was stabbed to death multiple times with a sword and was nearly decapitated. Two people are being held for murder.

Thomson had the audacity to tweet: “QANON?? Or just an attempt to divert attention?”

See the tweet below.

It’s unclear whether Thomson’s insensitive remarks were a pathetic effort at humor or was she suggesting there’s a conspiracy theory at play.

These remarks are not only disgraceful and hurtful, but as an elected official Thomson is expected to act with compassion and empathy at such a tragedy. Candidates and elected officials must be held to a higher standard and hold a high moral compass.

As a candidate, her words reflect her candidacy and now are representative of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. The DPNM must speak out against this behavior. Does that Party condone such offensive words?

Thomson’s disregard for this woman’s life is beyond belief.

“This tweet is extremely offensive and shameful, and Rep. Thomson has acted beneath the dignity of her state office,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “The Democratic Party is obligated to condemn this tweet and speak out about this unqualified candidate. It would be unspeakable to accept this tweet on any level, and the DPNM must take responsibility.”

The truth is that the GOP base is detached from reality. And they have become easy mark’s for con men and conspiracy theories.

GOP leaders don’t want to acknowledge that millions of conservatives believing nonsense has consequences.

The lies of the GOP and fox news are endangering America. Stop them with ballots and if they close that route then fight them with bullets.

If you are a conservative, you have been fooled by the conservative media and are working against the United States and its constitution. Repent before it’s to late.

Most voters wish there were less anger and hate in partisan politics. However, this site waxing righteous about a Tweet shows more gall than sincerity.

Neither Yvette Herrell nor this website have condemned the MAGA nut’s attempt to kidnap and torture speaker Pelosi. You all say nothing about the letter sent to a non-profit with an anti-Semitic attack and threats against Nathan Small (D State House District 52).

Mr. Small’s opponent in the current election is NM GOP Executive Director Kim Skaggs and she has said nothing about this hateful act by one of her supporters. Gentleman Small would condemn any such attack on Skaggs.

Neither Herrell nor this site have used the word “Trump” since 8/9 despite his team’s crimes against national security and his assault on democracy.

It’s hard to say whether you “leaders” are bigger cowards or hypocrites, but either way it’s easy to see why the GOP will stay in the minority in New Mexico.

    • Jo says:

Pelosi attacker wasn’t MAGA, he’s an illegal. Try as the media did to get stupid people to believe that lie (apparently worked on you), it was never proved.

      • All MAGA is illegal says:

Yes, he was in the country past his Visa. But that seems a little less of a factor than his desire to kidnap and torture the speaker of the house.

Do all Canadians who over stay there Visa’s believe the speaker of the house is the antichrist?

It’s sad to see the party of personal responsibility refuse to accept that the lies they tell have real world implications.

  • Debra says:

Is anyone surprised that the Democrats are OK with this and refusing to condemn it?
