REPORT A VOTING INCIDENT: 505-305-0763

Albuquerque, October 13—RPNM is shocked and outraged that a recent television ad released by Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez deliberately omits “Martinez” when referring to Republican 3rd Congressional District candidate Alexis Martinez Johnson.

Martinez Johnson is proud of her Hispanic heritage and her name, and when progressive Democrats intentionally take out “Martinez” in this ad, it’s an insult to the largely Hispanic Congressional District. This is as low as you can get—to try to cast off Martinez Johnson’s Hispanic identity.

On the sample ballot, Martinez Johnson’s name appears as Alexis Martinez Johnson.

“This is a blatantly racist attempt to whitewash Alexis Martinez Johnson,” said RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce. “The Democratic Party of New Mexico is running scared as they’re realizing that New Mexicans are fed up with one party rule, and they’re resorting to racist attacks in an attempt to dissuade voters. It won’t work – New Mexicans are concerned about skyrocketing inflation, high gas prices, and out-of-control crime, and that’s why they’ll be voting Republican this November.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
