Albuquerque, September 18—The Republican Party of New Mexico is saddened by the news that Senior U.S. District Judge James A. Parker has passed away. Parker served the District of New Mexico for more than 30 years. He was 85. Judge Parker was nominated to the District Court by President Reagan and confirmed later that year. In 2000 he was elevated to Chief Judge before becoming a Senior Judge in 2003. Parker was an extraordinary judge and legal scholar whose work and energy were exemplary. The following is a statement from Harvey Yates, former Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman and National Committeeman and a retired member of the New Mexico State Bar: “Jim Parker was the essence of what a judge should be: an honorable man, a thorough lawyer, a fair judge, a steady hand on the helm, a judge uninfluenced by the political winds, and a man with a great work ethic. Judge Parker will be missed by all of his friends and by this state which is in dire need of more men and women of his character.” |
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662. |
Former GOP Chair Yates’s description of Judge Parker sounds real good and probably is accurate.
It doesn’t fit many of the judges appointed by Loser Trump, though. Aileen Cannon of Florida is a good example of a political hack on the bench and she will end up embarrassing the entire GOP.
