Albuquerque, April 15—Tonight begins the Jewish holiday of Passover, and at sunset Jews will celebrate this special time that commemorates the exodus from slavery in Egypt and the Jewish people’s journey to freedom.

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce in observance of Passover:

“The Republican Party of New Mexico and I want to wish Jewish families and friends here in New Mexico and around the world a Happy Passover. As families celebrate this holiday and gather at their Seders, they will recount the story of how God saved the Jewish people from bondage to lead them to freedom. The story of Passover is one of liberation as Jews were freed from slavery and oppression. All of us are reminded that through faith and perseverance we can overcome adversity. Passover recognizes a people’s hope, endurance and their desire to be free. The lessons of Passover are universal, and we all should work together to strive for the ideals of religious freedom, liberty and unity.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
