Albuquerque, March 1–Today marks the beginning of Women’s History Month, a time to reflect on the contributions and accomplishments made by women in our nation. For centuries women have been trailblazers in the constant fight for justice and equality. The Republican Party was the driving force behind the push for the right of women to vote, and the party was also the first to advocate for equal rights and pay for women. We recognize and honor these inspirational women for their tenacity and bravery to fight for their rights and for the principles that make our nation great. The Republican Party will always stand for these same values and principles, and we salute these women pioneers who have helped shape our proud Republic. “More than half of the candidates at Saturday’s Pre-Primary State Convention were women,” said Tina Dziuk, New Mexico’s Republican National Committeewoman. “What a great message as we step into Women’s History Month. And what an honor to serve in a party that not only celebrates women, but helps us rise into leadership.” “Whether it’s politics, business or any field, women have made strides in the progress of our country,” said RPNM Executive Director Kim Skaggs. “There have been so many pioneers who have paved the way for opportunity for so many women across our land. I feel grateful, and I hope others will be inspired to do great things for our citizens and America. I remain committed to their ideals and dreams. In particular, more and more women are entering politics, and this is encouraging because they will continue to make a difference in shaping policy and changing lives for our future.” |
