Albuquerque, January 12—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce after the New Mexico Public Education Department admitted it missed a year-end deadline to launch a website to provide the public with details about state spending: “This is another example of ineptitude by the Governor and her administration. There’s absolutely no accountability or organization in this Lujan Grisham administration. It’s obvious why we remain 50th in education, and it’s no surprise that the Governor has gone through three Education Secretaries within a two-year period. Whether it’s overpaying unemployment claims or breaking the law at CYFD, this administration has shown incompetence and a disregard for the public. It doesn’t follow the rules and thinks it’s untouchable, and Lujan Grisham allows all these problems to happen. There’s no accountability. Voters will decide in November whether it’s time to clean house in Santa Fe. This governor doesn’t deserve another term.” |
