Albuquerque, December 1—The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce on today’s arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court on a Mississippi law banning abortion after 15 weeks:

“Today’s hearing is significant for New Mexico and the entire nation. This case on the abortion issue is critical and hopefully will put us on the road to eliminate Roe v Wade. This is a time in history when conservatives can seize the moment to stop these immoral procedures. With a conservative majority on the High Court, thanks to President Trump, I am optimistic that the Justices will recognize their duty to protect the lives of the unborn and to abolish the horrors of abortion. Justices now have a real opportunity to challenge court precedent and to legally establish the right to life in the womb. Abortion is wrong on moral grounds, and no one, no entity–especially governments–should be allowed to determine whether to end a pregnancy. The nation needs to reconsider when life begins. I and everyone who stand for life look forward to a decision that will overturn Roe v Wade.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) advances the ideals of individual liberties for the advancement of its citizens and the greater prosperity of our communities throughout New Mexico. Led by an Executive Board and its Chairman, former NM Congressman Steve Pearce, RPNM serves all New Mexicans via its headquarters in Albuquerque and can be contacted at (505) 298-3662.
  • JH Cole says:

The same politicians, such as Mr. Pearce, who want the state to decide about a woman’s pregnancy and deny her right to decide about her own body, are the same people who say the state has no right to tell somebody to get vaccinated or even wear a mask.

Mr. Pearce, please explain this in your post tomorrow.

Vaccine and mask policy have huge impacts on PUBLIC health, but abortion does not. Explain, oh wise one, why the state can control one woman’s body but does not have the power to require public health measures.
