Albuquerque, November 10—The following is a statement today from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce on the passing of former NM State Representative Dianne Miller Hamilton. Hamilton died yesterday at her home in Tijeras following a brief illness. She was 87. “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend Dianne Hamilton. We served together in the House of Representatives, and she was a force in New Mexico politics who worked tirelessly for 18 years on veterans affairs, election security and other important issues. She was a wonderful person who was loved by her constituents. Dianne was deeply involved in her community and a true friend to anyone she met. She was an inspiration to women and a genuine statesman. She will be missed.” Hamilton served nine terms in the House of Representatives from 1998-2016, serving District 38 that includes Grant, Hidalgo and Sierra Counties. |
