BIDEN’S WEAK ECONOMIC POLICIES FAILING NATION WITH MORE DISMAL JOB GAINS AND RISING INFLATION
Albuquerque, September 4—President Biden’s economy is failing Americans as the latest national jobs report was a huge miss—just 235,000 jobs were added in August, coming in nearly half a million jobs below expectations. This economic report demonstrates that Biden’s policies are not working. More than 3,000 construction jobs and more than 28,000 retail trade jobs were lost last month. No leisure or hospitality jobs were gained. Joe Biden and the Democrats’ policy of paying Americans not to work has left small businesses struggling to remain open. Nearly 2 million unemployed Americans refused jobs because these payments are too high. Meanwhile, 50% of small business owners reported job openings they cannot fill—a record high. And 3.2 million American workers have been out of work for nearly half a year. New Mexico now has the second worst unemployment rate in the nation at 7.6%. The Land of Enchantment has lost 40% of our small businesses. All this can be attributed to the reckless and weak policies of Joe Biden and Gov. Lujan Grisham. “Biden’s economic policies have formed a perfect storm,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce. “While his radical policies are killing our workforce, consumer prices and producer prices continue to skyrocket. This brutal inflation is hurting New Mexicans and others across the country, and it is stifling any potential economic growth. Now Biden is calling for $6 trillion in new spending and $3 trillion in new tax hikes to try to spend his way out of this economic mess.” Pearce also points out that while Biden and Democrats keep squandering economy recovery, Republican-led states are leading the way. Through July, 16 of the top 20 states for recovering jobs from the pandemic are led by Republican governors. |
