RPNM calls on Gov. Lujan Grisham to follow Texas's lead and reopen the Land of Enchantment.
Albuquerque, March 2 – Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce provided the following statement after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced today that he would fully reopen his state next week:
“It’s time for Gov. Lujan Grisham to wake up and realize that New Mexicans are craving a normal life. She’s destroyed businesses, killed livelihoods, and promoted despair across New Mexico with her random and illogical decrees. Her so-called “medical” science, chock full of wild statistics, colorful boundaries, and confusing charts, has proven to be merely political science, punishing people, fining businesses, and denying children their right to a fair and efficient education. The Governor’s authoritarian decrees, her mask mandates, and stark warnings to her constituents have been insulting and unjust. She has infringed upon our constitutional rights and our very way of life. She cannot micromanage our lives anymore. It’s time to reopen New Mexico and get back to a sense of normalcy.”
