RPNM statement on the shooting death of NM State Police Officer.
Albuquerque, February 4—The following is a statement from RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce regarding today’s tragic shooting death of a New Mexico State Police officer.
“The Republican Party and I are shocked and saddened by the news that a New Mexico State Police officer was killed in a shooting on I-10 near Las Cruces. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officer’s family and the force. This was a senseless killing, and we are horrified that a public servant, one who helps serve and protect our communities, was gunned down in the line of duty. Law enforcement officers are heroes, and we must stand by them at all times. This violence must stop, and it’s heartbreaking to learn of this tragedy. We also are praying for the other officers who were injured.”
