ALBUQUERQUE, SEPTEMBER 3 — The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce regarding today’s amended Public Health Order by Gov. Lujan Grisham:
“Once again Gov. Lujan Grisham applies her unsubstantiated “science” to amend her Public Health Order that’s destroying our state. Her data and statistics don’t hold water, and now she arbitrarily decides that people from certain states must quarantine for 14 days. Some states are exempt. If you test negative within 72 hours of entry, you don’t have to quarantine. This biased treatment based on her “science” is shutting out visitors from particular parts of the nation. Aside from that, her decision to increase hotel occupancies to be capped at 75% is too little too late for our crippled tourism industry. We must fully reopen our state so it has a chance to recover from the governor’s unjust and inequitable actions that have devastated our economy and livelihoods.”
