REP. TORRES SMALL TELEVISION AD PROVES SHE’S
A CONGRESSIONAL CHAMELEON: TV SPOT EXPOSES HABITUAL DECEIT, WEAK LEADERSHIP AND
INABILITY TO HELP HER CONSTITUENTS
SERIOUS QUESTIONS REGARDING CONGRESSWOMAN’S
ABILITY TO HELP NEW MEXICO DURING PANDEMIC
In the TV ad, Torres Small claims “she worked with President Trump to pass the Coronavirus relief plan.”
WHAT?
It was Torres Small who voted to impeach President Trump!
In the ad, Torres Small claims that “New Mexicans have each others backs.”
WHAT?
As a member of Congress, she is supposed to lead– to represent the people and help her 2nd Congressional District constituents—not abandon them, particularly when New Mexico’s economy is collapsing, vital industries are being lost, and citizens are suffering in this pandemic.
While Torres Small says she helped pass COVID-19 relief, why didn’t she hold Gov. Lujan Grisham accountable when the governor shut down the state, fined businesses illegally, favored out-of-state corporate big-box stores over local establishments and put us further toward economic disaster? Torres Small tries to convince viewers in the ad that she wants to help businesses, but where was she as our mom-and-pop stores–the strength of our local economies–died one after another?
Hundreds of businesses have closed permanently, but the Congresswoman hasn’t addressed these failed decisions by the governor.
As usual, Torres Small is using her sleight-of-hand tricks to deceive her constituents: pretend to be one way and act another.
She acts like a moderate, a conservative to fool the voters, toting a gun in hunting gear in campaign ads, but then votes for anti-gun legislation, becomes a member of the Pro-Choice Caucus and hires a radical anti-gun campaign manager.
She remains two-faced, and seems adamant about continuing to trick the public.
“Rep. Torres Small’s weak and ineffective leadership has now caused great harm to our 2nd Congressional District. She passes herself off as one who understands its citizens and then votes 95% with Nancy Pelosi. She cannot continue to represent her constituents with this two-faced behavior. She cannot come clean when it comes to her positions, and the people of her district deserve better,” said RPNM Chairman Steve Pearce.
Here’s what the final line of the ad should have said: New Mexico needs a Representative they can trust, but it’s not Torres Small.
