Harris, Heinrich & Vasquez: Too Little, Too Fake for NM

ALBUQUERQUE, SEPTEMBER 27—Today, the director for the U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) sent a letter to Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) revealing that over half a million convicted criminals have been released into America under the Harris/Biden administration. Today, Vice President and “Border Czar” Kamala Harris made her first visit to the southern border in three years for a photo-op as she and other open-border Democrats like Rep. Gabe Vasquez and Sen. Martin Heinrich struggle to cover up their role in creating this border chaos.

These are the facts Kamala and other Democrats hope New Mexicans will forget:

• Kamala Harris celebrated undoing President Trump’s successful border security.
• On day one, Kamala’s administration terminated almost every Trump border security policy. This included halting the border wall, suspending deportations, terminating ‘Remain in Mexico,’ implementing catch-and-release, and much more.
• Then Kamala repeatedly opposed border resources and she was criticized by Border Patrol for never even meeting with them.
• After her administration opened the border, Kamala is now claiming it’s Republicans’ fault for not passing a so-called “bipartisan border bill” that allowed tens of thousands of migrants into our country a month and granted mass amnesty to millions of unvetted illegal immigrants.
• Martin Heinrich has been a senator for nearly 12 years and has done nothing throughout that time to stop fentanyl coming across our border and has even been criticized by New Mexico law enforcement over his persistent inaction.
• Gabe Vasquez repeatedly said there was no crisis at the border and has consistently voted against strong border security bills including the Secure the Border Act, the most comprehensive border bill in recent history which would have ended the devastating catch and release policy.
• Now, the average number of illegal border crossings each month has almost tripled under Kamala (196,000/month) compared to President Trump’s administration (50,000/month).
• More than 300,000 migrant children admitted under her administration have gone missing, many likely sold into sex and labor trafficking.
• According to the new ICE data, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants with sex offenses and homicide convictions have been released into border states like New Mexico.
• There are at least 660,000 illegal immigrants at large in the U.S. with criminal records, including:
  • 13,000 convicted killers;
  • Nearly 16,000 sex assault convicts;
  • and 56,000 involved with dangerous drugs.
• Shamefully, other NM Democrats Melanie Stansbury and Teresa Leger Fernandez recently voted to protect illegal immigrants who commit sexual and violent crimes against women and children from deportation.

“Kamala Harris, Gabe Vasquez, and Martin Heinrich have spent their entire careers taking actions that have led to the worst border crisis in U.S. history,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Spokeswoman Ash Soular. “Now before the election, they are desperately gaslighting New Mexicans into thinking that they are the ones who will solve this crisis. Kamala Harris, Gabe Vasquez, and Martin Heinrich’s pandering is too little, too late and too fake for New Mexicans.”
