Statement on House Judiciary Committee Vote on Impeachment

Posted On December 13, 2019

Albuquerque, December 13– The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce on today’s vote by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee on articles of impeachment:

“Today’s action by the House Judiciary Committee continues the Democrats’ shameful attempt to discredit President Trump. To them, facts don’t matter and due process doesn’t matter. The entire impeachment process has been a travesty, and Democrats are intent on making up things to avoid doing their jobs in Washington. There’s been no abuse of power, no corruption, no extortion. Nothing. There was never any crime here. What Democrats are doing is a sad commentary on our political system. Yet Democrats seem to be making up evidence to convince themselves that something happened. This will not go anywhere in the Senate. It’s time to get down to business at the U.S. Capitol, and Democratic lawmakers should do the real work their constituents are paying them to do.”
