Republican Party of New Mexico Files Complaint Against Enchantment PAC

Albuquerque, NM – Today, the Republican Party of New Mexico filed a complaint against Enchantment PAC with the Secretary of State’s office for violations of the Campaign Reporting Act. Enchantment PAC is an independent expenditure committee, and yet has made several donations to Democrat candidates in New Mexico, blatantly against New Mexico law.

In the 2016 cycle, Enchantment PAC has made donations to Natalie Figueroa, Democrat candidate for HD 30, and Michael Sanchez, Democrat Senator from SD 29.

“Independent expenditure committees are not supposed to spend directly to candidates, they’re required by law to be independent,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Spokesman Tucker Keene. “Enchantment PAC appears to be violating the law to help elect Democrat candidates across the state, and Michael Sanchez and Natalie Figueroa have accepted these illegal contributions, clearly showing the voters in their districts they believe themselves to be above the law.”
