Albuquerque, December 16–Rep. Torres Small’s announcement this weekend that the impeachment of President Trump is a “necessary response” is the latest example of why she is unfit to serve in Congress.
Rep. Torres Small speaks in generalities and, like all her fellow Democrats, presents no facts or evidence that the President committed any wrongdoing. The Congresswoman is just being persuaded by her colleagues to go along with this bogus argument that Democrats are clinging to. There is no case. There’s no obstruction. No abuse. No extortion. Nothing. Democrats have just manufactured this impeachment sham because they know they cannot win in 2020, and Trump is doing such a great job in office that’s it’s embarrassing to their party.
What’s particularly disturbing is that the Congresswoman cannot see through all this. She has promised bipartisanship yet she has become part of the Democratic stain on our democracy and judicial process. She is simply bought and paid for by Speaker Pelosi. In this way, Torres Small has personified weakness and has proven a lack of clarity of what’s right and just in our political process. That’s shameful.
“Xochitl Torres Small knows her back is up against the wall when it comes to impeachment. It is unacceptable that she is even considering voting with Nancy Pelosi and the left-wing of her party when she ran for her seat on promises of bipartisanship and reaching across the aisle,” said Steve Pearce, Chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico. “If she ultimately votes ‘yes’ on impeachment this week, New Mexicans will vote her out next year. She needs to get off this silly Democratic bandwagon and get down to real issues like USMCA and jobs for New Mexicans. She has absolutely let down her constituents”
Pearce says this impeachment sham will not go anywhere in the U.S. Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said there’s a “zero chance” President Trump will be removed from office.
“All of this will backfire on the Democrats who have made up the rules and acted disgracefully. 2020 will be a big year for Republicans and we’re ready to turn New Mexico red at the federal and state levels. We’re energized and set to make New Mexico a better place to live and work,” said Pearce.
