NM GOP Releases Statement On Upcoming 9th District State Senate Race

Albuquerque, NM- The Republican Party of New Mexico released the following statement on the upcoming 9th District State Senate Race:

“Senator John Sapien will now be forced to defend a record of stonewalling progress in the New Mexico State Senate. The voters will see a clear choice between a candidate who fights for reform and job creation, a contrast to Senator Sapien, who protects a failed status quo that will hold New Mexico back,” said Pat Garrett, spokesman for the Republican Party of New Mexico.

In 2012, Senator Sapien was re-elected by less than 200 votes.  This past session he voted to block both Right to Work as well as legislation to end the failed policy of social promotion.  Both these measures have overwhelming support from the voters.  Senator Sapien remains one of our current senators that denounce pro-business and pro-growth legislation.
