ICYMI, The Washington Post has rated New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District race the most competitive in the country, while another Washington newspaper shows a virtual tie.
The Washington Post has just named the Rep. Xochitl Torres Small-Yvette Herrell race the most competitive contest in the country—making Torres Small the most vulnerable Representative in Congress.

Here’s the story in the Washington Post:

Recently, the Washington Examiner revealed the 2nd Congressional District race to be in a dead heat.

Here’s the story in the Washington Examiner:

The following is a statement from Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman Steve Pearce on these developments:

“After years of hiding in the shadows away from constituents and voting 94% of the time with Nancy Pelosi, Xochitl Torres Small will now have to fight for her political life after abandoning the voters of New Mexico’s Second Congressional District with her abysmal voting record,” said New Mexico Republican Party Chairman Steve Pearce. “New Mexicans will never forget that Xochitl voted to impeach our President — who CD-2 voters overwhelmingly elected by a 10% margin in 2016 — and now Xochitl is desperately clinging to President Trump’s name in her deceptive new television ads. There is nothing moderate about Xochitl, and we are excited to see our great Republican nominee Yvette Herrell pushing back against Xochitl’s far-left machine in her bid to reclaim the district back to the people of New Mexico.”
