Democrats Stand in the Way of Jobs at Rep. Maestas Barnes Job Fair

Albuquerque, NM – The Democrat Party of New Mexico sent protesters to stand outside the entrance to Rep. Sarah Maestas Barnes’ 2016 Job Fair at the CNM Workforce Training Center and protest the 66 employers and their more than 1800 job openings.

“The Democrats were quite literally standing in the way of jobs today,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Spokesman Tucker Keene. “Rep. Maestas Barnes’ Job Fair was a huge success, with 66 employers offering more than 1800 job openings, but instead of supporting this fantastic opportunity for the local community, Democrats thought this was an event worthy of protest.”

The success of Rep. Maestas Barnes’ Job Fair stands in stark contrast to Senate Democrat Boss Michael Sanchez’s failed attempt last spring, at which only one organization was hiring locally, compared to 66 at Rep. Maestas Barnes’ event this week.

“This year the Democrats have both hosted a job fair with no jobs and protested a job fair that had more than 1800 job openings,” said Keene. “The sustained hostility DPNM has shown toward private business and employment opportunities this year explains so much about the policies they choose to pursue and the candidates they choose to support. New Mexico needs more community-focused legislators like Rep. Maestas Barnes and fewer like the anti-business Sen. Michael Sanchez.”
